St. Anthony may be best known as the patron saint of lost articles.
(And, oh, who hasn't been caught in the frustration of trying to find a
misplaced set of keys!) But during his lifetime, St. Anthony was known
for his powerful preaching. Eventually he was commissioned to produce a
collection of sermons called Sermons for Feast Days. He died at age 36 and was canonized in 1232, less than a year after his death.
Other patronage: The elderly, harvests, pregnant women, Brazil, American Indians, horses, watermen
